Hey, I'm Caitlin (she/her) I'm a second-year Geography student and I will be the RCSA Chair this year!
My role mostly includes organising elections and open-meetings as well as ensuring that we stick to the Constitution. If you have any questions about the RCSA or college in general do send me an email and I'll get back to you as fast as I can :)
This year my aims are to:
* Continue making the RCSA accessible, through better signposting of accessibility information and making college correspondence dyslexia-friendly
* Ensure we are democratic and accountable by promoting engagement and listening to students' views on CUSU council issues
* Support the committee and their needs so they can support you
I’m Emily (she/her), a second year History student, and I'm your RCSA President for this year!
This year, I'm hoping to improve RCSA Communication with both students and senior staff, improve student involvement in the RCSA and support the other RCSA members in achieving their goals for this year. I'd also like to do some smaller things to make Robinson a more fun place to live and work, such as buying more games consoles for the JCR and TV Room, sending Christmas Cards to all students, and increasing the amount of Robinson stash on sale.
I am responsible for representing student interests at meetings with the senior staff, various college committees, and CUSU. I'm also someone who hopefully has a fair idea of what's going on in college, so please get in contact with me if you have something to discuss or any concerns!
I’m Daisy (she/her), a first year English student and the current Vice President for 2019-20!
I'm the person you'll be getting the weekly bulletin emails from (if you have any external events you think look interesting, send them my way). I'm excited to work with the President to represent the students of Robinson on different Committees and make sure that your ideas/concerns are communicated with the people in charge.
I'll be organising the Room Ballot as well as coordinating Freshers' week and matching up College Parents to their incoming College Children. It is also my job to sort out the college Stash (clothes with the Robinson logo) as you can see enthusiastically modelled in my photo; if you have any issues or suggestions concerning this then let me know.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas for any of the things mentioned above or about RCSA life in general - I am always here to welcome feedback with open arms!
Hi I’m Daniela (she/her), I’m a second year lawyer and this year’s Treasurer. As Treasurer, I’m in charge of allocating and managing the RCSA’s budget for the year. I want to build on the great work done by Matt (last year's treasurer), especially keeping his financial support document up to date. I want to ensure the RCSA makes full use of its budget so we don't send the surplus back to college, to no benefit of the students. For example, if you have paid membership fees or subs for a (non-political) University society, the RCSA will reimburse you up to £25. There are also refunds for external storage for overseas students until college puts in place a long term solution. Please get in touch with me if you want this free money! Outside my role (and my degree) I enjoy Cheerleading, Swimming, Gymming and Drawing!
Hi, I’m Phoebe, a third-year History student and your Welfare Officer! I oversee the whole Welfare Team here, and will try my best to help you at all times. I hold drop-in sessions, but feel free to send me an email, facebook message or use the welfare form on this website to contact me anytime. Everything you say to me will remain non-judgemental and completely confidential (unless the situation requires otherwise) - and I have a lot of tea.
I will be holding Welfare events throughout the year and hope that these will give you a chance to take a break from hectic Cambridge life, and learn more about wellbeing. Welfare is also a political role, and I will be campaigning for better standards within college and the university as a whole. For instance, I keep college stocked with sexual health supplies of all kinds and can register students to the C-Card scheme (that provides free sexual health supplies to young people under the age of 25).
Hi, I'm Josh, a 1st year historian and your RCSA secretary for this year. I'll be sending you all emails with the agendas and minutes from Open Meetings, and I also look after the pigeonhole for the JCR. If you want to submit a motion for an Open Meeting you will have to email them to me at least two days before the Meeting is to take place.
Hi I’m Scarlett (She/her), I’m a first year English Student and your Academic Affairs Officer this year! As AAO my aim is to make sure that all students feel supported and comfortable in their academic life.
I will be sitting in on a range of academic committees over the year to represent the student voice, so if you have any concerns or ideas about how your academic life of Robinson could be improved please don’t hesitate to drop me an email! My aim this year is to make sure communications between students and academics is as clear and efficient as possible, and that freshers have a great introduction to their subject reps and the academic areas of the college and the wider university to make the transition to university life as smooth as possible.
I am Ilja (he/him), a first year CompSci from Latvia with a strong desire to create the most supportive and inclusive atmosphere possible for both academic and non-academic life here at Robinson. As a Catering & Amenities officer, my main goal is to make our college more welcoming for all the students. I try to look after everything you can eat or use in Robinson, and I'm happy to hear your feedback on college catering and facilities. As a member of the RCSA, I'm happy to contribute to the development of our community and help with protecting students’ rights on all possible levels.
Hey, I’m Felix - I’m a first year history and politics student and I’m your RCSA Sports and Societies officer for 2019/20!
I’m here to promote and support sports and societies (the clue is in the title) at Robinson and maintain the community around them in the college. On top of that I’ll be trying to make Binson a mighty winning machine in competitive sports and a fun and inclusive college in casual sports and societies.
Feel free to contact me to ask any questions about anything vaguely related to sports and societies at Robinson (or better still if you have anything for the bulletin - results, amusing snippets or event advertisements).
Hi I'm Keshav, your computer officer for this year. Feel free to reach out to me for any computer related queries here at Robinson.
Hi, I'm Lou and I am the access officer for the RCSA and I am a 2nd year Natsci. I have benefited from many access schemes myself so I am well prepared for the position. My roles within in the job are to organise the CUSU shadowing scheme within Robinson, work on the alternative prospectus and to increase Robinson's involvment with Project Access.
From Scotland and Wales respectively, we love a boogie!
Harry is a first year HSPS student and Gareth is a first year Education student.
We organise and run the weekly Bops at Robinson, along with other entertainment events such as (roughly) fortnightly karaoke and will help to organise many fun things during freshers week.
The Bops are our main dedication: fun and highly attended free club nights in college for Robinson students. On the night we personally help run the cash-only bar or occasionally DJ.
During our tenure, we will also be working in collaboration with the LGBT Officer to make happen one of the biggest events in the Robinson calendar: Rainbow Robinson. A university-wide LGBT+ Bop open to all students at Cambridge.
Hi I'm Caroline and I'm a first year MMLer. I'm hoping to make Robinson even more sustainable this year- I'm aiming to be able to introduce a composting system for kitchens, continue to reduce the use of single-use plastic around college and raise awareness of environmental issues on a wider scale. Please get in touch with me if you have any concerns/ ideas for Green initiatives in college!
Hello! I’m Roisin (she/her) , I’m a second year English student and your Women’s Officer for the year. My role is to look out for self-defining women and non-binary people in college, and help to make Robinson as supportive and safe an environment for them as possible.
Owing to my somewhat limited contact hours/appetite for lectures I am probably around for a chat; just send me a message on facebook or email (rk610). I’m always happy to listen, no matter what the issue is, and will do my very best to help in any way you’d like me to!
I’ll also be making sure that sanitary products are available round college, but can get you these as well as pregnancy tests and contraception if our supplies have run out.
Additionally, if there’s anything you think I or the college could be doing to make Robinson a nicer place for women to live and work in, please let me know!
Hi, I’m Kypros, your Men’s Welfare Officer. A second-year Chemical Engineer with perhaps not the most time, but a desire to help those I can.
It is important that all members of the college feel that they have someone whom they can speak to if they have any worries and who will assist them in a professional and if necessary, confidential way. I'm here to listen. Be it at drop ins, over email or simply around college.
I will act as a representative for men within college, hosting various events throughout the year for men and non-binary individuals.
Hi everybody, I’m Trish and I’ll be your BME officer this year at Robinson!
My role really essentially encompasses the representation of Black, Asian and other ethnic minority groups at Cambridge.
Similar to previous BME officers, I will be hosting drop in session as well as hopefully continuing the forums for communication. I’ll also be hosting loads of fun events to raise awareness of different BME cultures, as well as being here to discuss any concerns you may have.
Hopefully we can make this year lit!
Hi! I'm Sophia, and I'm your overseas officer for 2019-2020. I'll be in charge of organising international fresher's week, and I hope to put on some events to further integrate the international community. I'm trilingual and have lived in two different countries, France and Denmark, prior to coming to the UK to study, so I am used to the cultural shocks that you might experience. Also, if you ever feel homesick or if you just want to unburden some stuff on someone, send me a message on facebook or instagram, and I'd be more than happy to listen!
Find me on facebook: Sophia Kjeldbjerg
Lots of pegasus love, xoxo Sophia
Hey I'm Paar (they/them), a second year mathmo, and the current RCSA LGBT+ Officer. I'm here to promote inclusivity in college, and be a friendly face that students who identify as LGBT+ know and can turn to for help if they need.
I'll also be hosting a range of events throughout the year, such as swaps with other colleges, so keep an eye out for those, and I'm very open to suggestions for more events, so if you have anything in mind do let me know!
Hi, I'm Harriet (she/her), a first year music student, and I'm the Mental Health and Disabilities Officer for the RCSA! I myself have a disability so I hope I might be able to use my experiences to help anyone that needs it. If there is ever anything worrying you to do with your mental health or a disability or you just want a friendly chat and a hug then please feel free to drop me a message and I will do everything I can to help you, point you in the right direction or just listen. I'm here for everyone, not just those who identify as 'disabled', so please don't feel like you can't come to me if you don't have a specific disability - sometimes we all need a little help :)
makes you notice, doesn't it? a little bit of low quality student journalism.
here for the sweater and an excuse for failing my degree x
