I'm Valentine, a 3rd year Classicist. I have been Chair for the RCSA in our previous committee and will carry on with this role this year!
My roles mostly includes organising our elections and open-meetings as well as ensuring that we stick to the Constitution.
This year, my main objectives will be:
* Renovate the JCR and carry on my efforts in making it a more central place in College
* Make the RCSA more accountable (both for CUSU Council vote and for our committee)
Hi, I’m Tom, I’m a second year HSPS student and I’m this year’s RCSA president. I’m the person representing your interests at meetings with the steward, senior tutor and at college council, CUSU council, The Education Committee, The Joint Liaisons Committee, The Admissions Committee and more. Please get in contact with me if you have something to discuss or any concerns! This year I want to make the RCSA more effective and transparent when it comes to representing you.
I’m Annalise, a second year MML student and this year’s Vice President. My role includes organising the Room Ballot for all years; coordinating Freshers' Week; allocating incoming first years to their College Parents; and sending an External Bulletin to students every week.
I also represent Robinson students by sitting on various committees alongside College staff. I’m really looking forward to working with the President over the coming year to address students’ concerns.
Feel free to contact me with questions about the Room Ballot or any other issues!
Hi I’m Matt, I’m a second year Chemist and this year’s Treasurer. As Treasurer, I’m in charge of allocating and managing the RCSA’s budget for the year. I want to build on the great work done by Tom (last year's treasurer), especially keeping his financial support document up to date. I want to ensure the RCSA makes full use of its budget so we don't send the surplus back to college, to no benefit of the students. For example, if you have paid membership fees or subs for a (non-political) University society, the RCSA will reimburse you up to £25. There are also refunds for external storage for overseas students until college puts in place a long term solution. Please get in touch with me if you want this free money! Outside my role I enjoy college lacrosse, the Stimulus volunteering project and Cambridge theatre.
Hi, I’m Phoebe, a second-year History student and your Welfare Officer! I oversee the whole Welfare Team here, and will try my best to help you at all times. I hold drop-in sessions, but feel free to send me an email, facebook message or use the welfare form on this website to contact me anytime. Everything you say to me will remain non-judgemental and completely confidential (unless the situation requires otherwise) - and I have a lot of tea.
I will be holding Welfare events throughout the year and hope that these will give you a chance to take a break from hectic Cambridge life, and learn more about wellbeing. Welfare is also a political role, and I will be campaigning for better standards within college and the university as a whole. For instance, I keep college stocked with sexual health supplies of all kinds and can register students to the C-Card scheme (that provides free sexual health supplies to young people under the age of 25).
Hi, I’m Emma, a first year PBS student and I am your RCSA Secretary for this year. My role involves keeping and circulating the agenda and minutes of all open and committee meetings as well as being responsible for the RCSA mail and notice board. If you want to submit a motion for an open meeting make sure you send it my way at least two days before the meeting!
Hi, I’m Emily, a first year Historian from West Sussex. As this year’s Academic Affairs Officer, it’s my responsibility to ensure that the academic welfare of all Robinson students is provided for.
I’ll be working in collaboration with the RCSA and other committees to ensure that all students have the best possible academic life. During my time in this role, I hope to facilitate improved access to academic opportunities offered by the college (such as book ordering and essay writing assistance).
Hey, I’m Flo and I am a first year MMLer. As Catering and Amenities officer I am looking forwards to working to improve our meal options and eating facilities as well as representing the student body in the management of all the practical arrangements in college. I deal with the formals, Garden Restaurant, trunk room, bike stores and Laundry Room and I will be looking to continue the work from previous years as well as instigate some of my own ideas, including more themed formals and international food, cheaper and greener clothes drying systems and healthier food in Robinson!
Hi, I'm Seb and I'll be your Sports and Societies Officer this year! I'm hoping to continue to grow our sense of college community through engagement in societies, providing you with easy routes into getting involved wherever you can. I also want to help Robinson in our development as a strong sporting contender at the university, as well as encouraging more relaxed exercise for those wanting a casual kick-about.
Hi, I'm Sam, I'm a second year Computer Scientist and I'm the RCSA computer officer. I was formerly the RCSA LGBT+ officer for 2017-2018.
Hey, I'm Kieran, I'm a second year Chemist and I'm the Access Officer for 2018-19. I'll be working with my access committee to put on College tours, push more outreach events and aim to ensure that both the current access related help offered by college is well advertised, and that the standard and quality of this help increases. I also sit on College's Admissions Committee.
Introducing your ents officers for this year, Julia and Fionn!! We are both English students (as evident from Fionn napping in the photo) and also are in charge of the weekly v kl bops, as well as other ents events and Freshers' Week. Please drop us a message if you want to be part of our fab ents committee or have any suggestions as to how we can make robinson a Cool Fun college!
Hi I'm Poppy and I'm your Green officer for this year. Get in contact with me if you want to raise any issues regarding sustainability in College. I'm hoping to put on loads of events promoting ethical affairs at Robinson!
I'm Becky (she/her) and I'm a second year Philosophy student that loves politics and ethics. I'm the Women's Officer this year and my role is to support self-defining women and non binary people in college by being here to listen, give advice and make other sources of support accessible to you. If you're upset or stressed and want some comfort or you want to talk about issues that impact you as a woman, I'll be here.
Women's voices are very important and I want college to be a comfortable place that meets your needs, so please come to me if you have anything you'd like to see change.
I'll always have sanitary products, pregnancy tests, condoms, dental dams etc - so whenever you need me just message me on facebook or send an email if you'd prefer and I'll be there to help as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you for a chat!
Hi, I’m Chris, your Men’s Welfare Officer. second-year medic with perhaps not the most time, but a strong, genuine love for all things Robinson and the wonderful community within. Talking about how you feel is the most okay thing ever, yet more than 40% of men who have bad thoughts or have contemplated suicide feel like they cannot talk about their feelings, fearing being stigmatised or judged. I want to break this stigma. Here at Robinson we really look out for one another. Reach out - your mates are there to support you. And if you don’t want to talk to anyone, I get it. You can talk to me, I will listen to you. We are not professionals, but we will listen to you, and where possible, confidentially!
Hi Everyone! I'm Drew a.k.a Harley Flame on facebook - I know, it's confusing. I'm gonna be your BME officer here at Robbo.
My role is mostly to bring awareness to the needs of Black, Asian and other ethnic groups here at Cambridge, hearing your thoughts and trying to make it more homely here.
I'll be following the tradition of holding drop-ins, and forums for all people, not just BME students, as well as hosting events for fun and being there to talk to or advise on any welfare issues you may have.
I hope we can have fun and help diversify up Robbo some more!
Hi! I'm Victor, a first year HSPS student and your elected Overseas Officer (RON was a tough one to beat). As a French national having lived in four different countries throughout my childhood, I have a first- hand, personal experience of the difficulties and challenges of Overseas Students so feel free to discuss any problems you are going through from homesickness to storage or even discrimination. I am also open to any suggestions for events, idea, articles or societies and will be organising International Freshers Week for incoming oversees students (ideas welcome).
I want to help and reach out to Overseas Students by offering them a space where they can not only feel at home in Robinson but also learn to be proud of their own background as diverse may be.
You can find me on Facebook or at [email protected]
Heya, I'm Sian, a third year engineer and the RCSA LBGT+ Officer! My job is to represent and help out anyone who identifies as LGBT+ in any way. Robinson has a history of high standards of inclusivity and I aim to ensure we uphold these high standards during my tenure. I’ll be running weekly, confidential drop in sessions if you want to have a chat and I'll be hosting a range of events throughout the year too!
Hey! I'm Sarah (she/her), a second year geographer, and I'm your Mental Health and Disabilities Officer! As part of the welfare team, I am here to support you through your time at Robinson. Please feel able to come for a chat (or a coffee), drop me an email, or DM me. More specifically, my role is to point you towards support for any difficulties you might be facing relating to mental health and disability support, whether that be in college, your personal life, or in university life as a whole. We all have mental health, so please don't feel that you can't come for a chat with me because you don't self-define as disabled, or you're worried that your issue "isn't that serious"- if it's bothering you, it matters.
My name is Clara and I’m ready to turn The Brick into the greatest media outlet in the world after Buzzfeed. Varsity who?
