Hey, I'm Caitlin (she/her) I'm a second-year Geography student and I will be the RCSA Chair this year!
My role mostly includes organising elections and open-meetings as well as ensuring that we stick to the Constitution. If you have any questions about the RCSA or college in general do send me an email and I'll get back to you as fast as I can :)
This year my aims are to:
* Continue making the RCSA accessible, through better signposting of accessibility information and making college correspondence dyslexia-friendly
* Ensure we are democratic and accountable by promoting engagement and listening to students' views on CUSU council issues
* Support the committee and their needs so they can support you
I’m Emily (she/her), a second year History student, and I'm your RCSA President for this year!
This year, I'm hoping to improve RCSA Communication with both students and senior staff, improve student involvement in the RCSA and support the other RCSA members in achieving their goals for this year. I'd also like to do some smaller things to make Robinson a more fun place to live and work, such as buying more games consoles for the JCR and TV Room, sending Christmas Cards to all students, and increasing the amount of Robinson stash on sale.
I am responsible for representing student interests at meetings with the senior staff, various college committees, and CUSU. I'm also someone who hopefully has a fair idea of what's going on in college, so please get in contact with me if you have something to discuss or any concerns!
I’m Daisy (she/her), a first year English student and the current Vice President for 2019-20!
I'm the person you'll be getting the weekly bulletin emails from (if you have any external events you think look interesting, send them my way). I'm excited to work with the President to represent the students of Robinson on different Committees and make sure that your ideas/concerns are communicated with the people in charge.
I'll be organising the Room Ballot as well as coordinating Freshers' week and matching up College Parents to their incoming College Children. It is also my job to sort out the college Stash (clothes with the Robinson logo) as you can see enthusiastically modelled in my photo; if you have any issues or suggestions concerning this then let me know.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, concerns or ideas for any of the things mentioned above or about RCSA life in general - I am always here to welcome feedback with open arms!
Hi I’m Matt, I’m a second year Chemist and this year’s Treasurer. As Treasurer, I’m in charge of allocating and managing the RCSA’s budget for the year. I want to build on the great work done by Tom (last year's treasurer), especially keeping his financial support document up to date. I want to ensure the RCSA makes full use of its budget so we don't send the surplus back to college, to no benefit of the students. For example, if you have paid membership fees or subs for a (non-political) University society, the RCSA will reimburse you up to £25. There are also refunds for external storage for overseas students until college puts in place a long term solution. Please get in touch with me if you want this free money! Outside my role I enjoy college lacrosse, the Stimulus volunteering project and Cambridge theatre.
Hi, I’m Phoebe, a third-year History student and your Welfare Officer! I oversee the whole Welfare Team here, and will try my best to help you at all times. I hold drop-in sessions, but feel free to send me an email, facebook message or use the welfare form on this website to contact me anytime. Everything you say to me will remain non-judgemental and completely confidential (unless the situation requires otherwise) - and I have a lot of tea.
I will be holding Welfare events throughout the year and hope that these will give you a chance to take a break from hectic Cambridge life, and learn more about wellbeing. Welfare is also a political role, and I will be campaigning for better standards within college and the university as a whole. For instance, I keep college stocked with sexual health supplies of all kinds and can register students to the C-Card scheme (that provides free sexual health supplies to young people under the age of 25).
Hi, I’m Caitlin, a first year geographer and I am the RCSA Secretary for the rest of the year. This means you'll be getting emails from me with all the agendas and minutes from open meetings, I will also be on top of the RCSA mail and notice board. And, I am the person to email to if you want to submit a motion for an open meeting (just make sure it comes my way two days before the meeting)!
Hi, I’m Emily, a first year Historian from West Sussex. As this year’s Academic Affairs Officer, it’s my responsibility to ensure that the academic welfare of all Robinson students is provided for.
I’ll be working in collaboration with the RCSA and other committees to ensure that all students have the best possible academic life. During my time in this role, I hope to facilitate improved access to academic opportunities offered by the college (such as book ordering and essay writing assistance).
Hey, I’m Flo and I am a first year MMLer. As Catering and Amenities officer I am looking forwards to working to improve our meal options and eating facilities as well as representing the student body in the management of all the practical arrangements in college. I deal with the formals, Garden Restaurant, trunk room, bike stores and Laundry Room and I will be looking to continue the work from previous years as well as instigate some of my own ideas, including more themed formals and international food, cheaper and greener clothes drying systems and healthier food in Robinson!
Hi, I'm Seb and I'll be your Sports and Societies Officer this year! I'm hoping to continue to grow our sense of college community through engagement in societies, providing you with easy routes into getting involved wherever you can. I also want to help Robinson in our development as a strong sporting contender at the university, as well as encouraging more relaxed exercise for those wanting a casual kick-about.
Hi I'm Keshav, your computer officer for this year. Feel free to reach out to me for any computer related queries here at Robinson.
Hey, I'm Kieran, I'm a second year Chemist and I'm the Access Officer for 2018-19. I'll be working with my access committee to put on College tours, push more outreach events and aim to ensure that both the current access related help offered by college is well advertised, and that the standard and quality of this help increases. I also sit on College's Admissions Committee.
Hi I'm Caroline and I'm a first year MMLer. I'm hoping to make Robinson even more sustainable this year- I'm aiming to be able to introduce a composting system for kitchens, continue to reduce the use of single-use plastic around college and raise awareness of environmental issues on a wider scale. Please get in touch with me if you have any concerns/ ideas for Green initiatives in college!
I'm Becky (she/her) and I'm a second year Philosophy student that loves politics and ethics. I'm the Women's Officer this year and my role is to support self-defining women and non binary people in college by being here to listen, give advice and make other sources of support accessible to you. If you're upset or stressed and want some comfort or you want to talk about issues that impact you as a woman, I'll be here.
Women's voices are very important and I want college to be a comfortable place that meets your needs, so please come to me if you have anything you'd like to see change.
I'll always have sanitary products, pregnancy tests, condoms, dental dams etc - so whenever you need me just message me on facebook or send an email if you'd prefer and I'll be there to help as soon as possible. I look forward to seeing you for a chat!
Hi, I’m Chris, your Men’s Welfare Officer. second-year medic with perhaps not the most time, but a strong, genuine love for all things Robinson and the wonderful community within. Talking about how you feel is the most okay thing ever, yet more than 40% of men who have bad thoughts or have contemplated suicide feel like they cannot talk about their feelings, fearing being stigmatised or judged. I want to break this stigma. Here at Robinson we really look out for one another. Reach out - your mates are there to support you. And if you don’t want to talk to anyone, I get it. You can talk to me, I will listen to you. We are not professionals, but we will listen to you, and where possible, confidentially!
Hi everybody, I’m Trish and I’ll be your BME officer this year at Robinson!
My role really essentially encompasses the representation of Black, Asian and other ethnic minority groups at Cambridge.
Similar to previous BME officers, I will be hosting drop in session as well as hopefully continuing the forums for communication. I’ll also be hosting loads of fun events to raise awareness of different BME cultures, as well as being here to discuss any concerns you may have.
Hopefully we can make this year lit!
Hi! I'm Sophia, and I'm your overseas officer for 2019-2020. I'll be in charge of organising international fresher's week, and I hope to put on some events to further integrate the international community. I'm trilingual and have lived in two different countries, France and Denmark, prior to coming to the UK to study, so I am used to the cultural shocks that you might experience. Also, if you ever feel homesick or if you just want to unburden some stuff on someone, send me a message on facebook or instagram, and I'd be more than happy to listen!
Find me on facebook: Sophia Kjeldbjerg
Lots of pegasus love, xoxo Sophia
Hey I'm Paar (they/them), a second year mathmo, and the current RCSA LGBT+ Officer. I'm here to promote inclusivity in college, and be a friendly face that students who identify as LGBT+ know and can turn to for help if they need.
I'll also be hosting a range of events throughout the year, such as swaps with other colleges, so keep an eye out for those, and I'm very open to suggestions for more events, so if you have anything in mind do let me know!
Hey! I'm Sarah (she/her), a second year geographer, and I'm your Mental Health and Disabilities Officer! As part of the welfare team, I am here to support you through your time at Robinson. Please feel able to come for a chat (or a coffee), drop me an email, or DM me. More specifically, my role is to point you towards support for any difficulties you might be facing relating to mental health and disability support, whether that be in college, your personal life, or in university life as a whole. We all have mental health, so please don't feel that you can't come for a chat with me because you don't self-define as disabled, or you're worried that your issue "isn't that serious"- if it's bothering you, it matters.
My name is Clara and I’m ready to turn The Brick into the greatest media outlet in the world after Buzzfeed. Varsity who?
