Robinson Ents

We, your friendly neighbourhood Ents Officers, are very excited about throwing our arms wide open to welcome each and every Fresher that comes our way! In this spirit of camaraderie and new found friendship, we cordially invite all of you to sample the wonders and delights that we have in store for you during Freshers’ Week 2011!
On Saturday 1st October we will initiate proceedings with one eye cast to the past and the other looking towards the as-yet uncorrupted future. Yes, our opening bop will be fittingly themed “What I wanted to be when I grew up” and will be housed, as ever, in Robinson’s world famous Party Room, “Jäger Acres”*
For those who are anxious and nervous and don’t know what a bop is, fear not! A bop is basically a cheesy party where everyone dresses up, enjoys cheap drinks from our student run bar and dances like nobody is watching, or that facebook doesn’t exist. They may seem a bit odd to the uninitiated but they quickly develop into something of a guilty weekly pleasure!
On Monday the 3rd October, following Matriculation Dinner, we will throw open our doors again for the second bop of the week, "999 Emergency services.” Costumes are a must, and creativity will be richly rewarded.
The Highlight of this year’s Freshers’ week will once again be its fantastic finale, the Event formerly known as Corruption, back with a new, improved, and as-yet top secret Theme! Hosted in a series of rooms strewn across college like the toys of a carefree child, and featuring, amongst other things, top class acts and a Silent Disco, this is one party that really will be worth waiting for!
And of course during the rest of the week and term we will continue to arrange top quality entertainment, as the RCSA presents a varied calendar of bar crawls, quizzes, karaoke, comedy nights, and other such delightful distractions. We will also continue to bring Robinson students great deals on the best entertainment that Cambridge has to offer with a cocktail of club nights and events organised by our friends at other Colleges.
Keep an eye on your @cam e-mail, the Upcoming Ents page and the Facebook Group for more ents updates as the term continues.
*nobody actually calls it that; I was just trying something.
